Dalian Commodity Exchange Continues To Improve Systems And Rules To Optimize Delivery Layout

Date 06/04/2023

A workshop on designated delivery warehouses for agricultural commodities futures was held by Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) in Dalian on March 31.

During the meeting, the heads of relevant departments from DCE briefed the delivery of agricultural futures in 2022. By the end of 2022, a total of 262 delivery warehouses have been established for various agricultural products of DCE, accounting for 49% of all delivery warehouses of DCE. In 2022, a total of 495,000 agricultural futures contracts were delivered, up 88.2% year on year and representing 76.9% of the total market’s delivery volume for agricultural futures. To address the high concentration and wide coverage of the agricultural futures delivery last year, DCE has taken several measures. It has built more delivery warehouses, improved delivery systems, and optimized emergency procedures, while strengthening cooperation with relevant stakeholders to effectively cope with the COVID-19 crisis and to ensure the smooth delivery of various products. On the other hand, DCE has enhanced other efforts such as on-site inspection, video inspection, special audit, and self-inspection by delivery warehouses. In this way, DCE has clarified responsibilities and continued to improve the management of delivery warehouses.

Going forward, DCE will remain committed to serving the real economy and meeting market demands in an innovative manner according to market feedbacks and suggestions. By optimizing the contract rules and delivery processes, DCE aims to advance the high-quality development of agricultural futures market.
