On October 25, 2024, the China Securities Regulatory Commission released the notice that it has approved the registration for log futures and options on Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE). On the same day, DCE released the contract specifications and rules for log futures and options, and began accepting applications for designated delivery warehouses and designated FOT delivery sites.
Log is the raw material from which related products in the wood industry originate. The listing of Log futures and options will not only significantly expand the breadth and depth of the futures market’s services to the wood industry, but also help the industry manage price risks and improve the price formation of logs.
