The Review Meeting on 2018 Top 10 Futures Investment and Research Teams” (the “Top 10 Teams” for short) of Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) is held in Dalian on December 21 and 22. DCE Vice President Zhu Lihong delivers a speech and presents the award to the wining teams. A total of 8 judges from professional investment institutions make comments on and raise questions to the participating teams. More than 100 persons from 30 teams ranking the top 15 of the General Group and the Option Group take part in the review. After fierce competition, Tianfeng Futures No. 2 Team and Nanhua Futures Option Team win the first in the General Group and the Option Group respectively.
Creating Value by R&D
To enhance futures market’s capacity of serving the real economy and facilitate the progress of the R&D (research and development) teams of futures companies, DCE has organized the “Top 10 Teams” selection activity for 10 consecutive years. This year’s selection has attracted the participation of 294 teams from over 100 futures companies, including 197 teams in the General Group and 87 teams in the Option Group. During the nearly 3 months’ competition, all teams have engaged in a competition on trading strategy report, simulated trading and site review.
2018 is the 10th year that DCE organizes the Top 10 Teams selection activity. Great changes have occurred in the Chinese futures market over the past 10 years. As the founder and major impeller of this activity, Zhu Lihong says in the speech that the contents and selection method have been adjusted over the past 10 years according to the development and change of the futures industry, but its focus on the “research”, the crucial part of the commodity futures market, has remained unchanged. Mentioning the reason of initiating this activity and insisting on organizing it, Zhu Lihong explains in the following aspects: first, DCE has always upheld the idea of cultivating talents for the futures market; second, all futures companies and institutions have highly acknowledged and actively participated in this activity; third, DCE has kept pace with the times and managed to attract market attention towards this activity. Zhu Lihong says that the market is lively, and only by targeting to the market demand can this selection activity grow lively and energetic. DCE is willing to invest relevant resources to build this platform, with an aim of serving the employees, futures companies and futures industry, as well as the real economy.
Hong Jiangyuan, Executive President of Shanghai Jiheng Investment Management Co., Ltd., says that the growth of the Chinese futures market is the result of the efforts of every employees and the improvement of the research level. The Top 10 Teams selection activity of DCE has encouraged the orientation of investment-research integration in the futures industry, satisfied the market demand, and formed a dimensional benchmark over the past 10 years that allows futures researchers to know about the professional level of themselves and their colleagues.
The result comes out after two-day’s review. In the General Group, Tianfeng Futures No. 2 Team wins the first with the score of 82.39; Industrial Securities Futures No. 1 Team and Luzheng Futures No. 1 Team are the second and the third with the score of 81.78 and 80.62 respectively; Jintai Futures No. 1 Team, CITIC Futures No. 1 Team, Hehe Futures No. 2 Team, GF Futures No. 2 Team, Tongguan Jinyuan No. 1 Team, China Investment Futures No. 1 Team and China Derivatives Futures No. 1 Team rank the fourth to the tenth respectively. In the Option Group, Nanhua Futures Option Team wins the first with the score of 84.28; Galaxy Futures Option Team and First Futures Option Team are the second and the third with the score of 83.04 and 82.91 respectively; Huishang Futures Option Team, Guosen Futures Option Team, Guantong Futures Option Team, Haitong Futures Option Team, Hualian Futures Option Team, Guoyuan Futures Option Team and Guodu Futures Option Team rank the fourth to the tenth respectively.
