Dala Kraft And OM Technology To Establish Settlement Centre

Date 28/02/2000

Power company Dalakraft and OM Technology have announced their intention to together establish a settlement centre for the Swedish market. This centre will be able to assist power companies with either all or parts of their day-to-day customer services. The settlement centre will initially offer complete settlement services for Swedish power companies, both network companies and power suppliers, including quality assurance of metering values, EDIEL-based reporting of settlement data as well as settlement and invoicing for each single customer, including credit control. The range of services will eventually be expanded to include call-centre solutions. In future power companies will thus be able to outsource their entire customer services functions to the new company. The settlement centre operations will be based on OM Technology's new electricity market customer system, POMAX Customer. POMAX Customer facilitates, within the framework of a single system, the management of customer activities, settlement, invoicing and product development. Dalakraft has been using POMAX Customer in its operations since last autumn. The Swedish electricity market currently has some five million customers. The three largest power companies - Vattenfall, Sydkraft and Birka Energi - hold around half the market share. The new company's services will be primarily aimed at the needs of the smallerpower companies. Dalakraft and OM Technology will jointly own the newsettlement centre. Dala Kraft is a co-operative venture between eight power companies in the Swedish province of Dalarna, formed to increase their competitive edge whilst retaining the local affiliation. Dala Kraft is owned by Envikens Elkraft, Gagnefs Energi, Hedemora Energi, Leksand-Rättvik Energi, Malungs Elverk, Ryssa Energi, Smedjebacken Energi and Falu Energi. OM develops markets and technology that increases the efficiency of financial and commodities markets all over the world. OM has operations in Europe, North America and Asia with offices in eleven countries. OM Technology has delivered the technology to the California Power Exchange, the Nordic electricity exchange Nord Pool and the Finnish electricity exchange, EL-EX, among others. The Parent Company, OM Gruppen, is listed on the OM Stockholm Exchange.
