Cyprus Stock Exchange Review Of Developments For September 2004

Prices

On the last trading session of September, the General Price Index of the Main and Parallel Market, which was launched on September 3rd 2004, reached 974,19 points representing a relative decrease of 2,58%. The value of shares traded also decreased by 6,27% compared to the previous month. It is worth mentioning, however, that the highest level the index reached for the month was 1000 points. The other Market Indices reached the following levels: Main Market reached 973,36, Parallel Market 995,05, Alternative Market 903,65, Investment Companies 1003,76 points. On a sectoral level, sub-indices reached the following levels: Banking sector: 970,34 Hotels: 912,92, the FTSE/CySE20: 325,97 and finally the FTSE Med 100: 5926,15 points.

Market Capitalization

The market capitalisation of shares (excluding the Investment Companies Market) reached £2.077 billion. According to this month’s results the Main Market accounted for 33,46% of the total market capitalisation, the Parallel Market 2,95%, the Alternative Market 8,96%, the Investment Companies Market 2,63% and the Bond Market 51,81%. Moreover the total market capitalisation including the Investment Companies Market, Warrants and the Bonds Market reached £4.578 billion compared to £4.633 billion the previous month, registering a decrease of 1,18 %.

Transactions

The total value of transactions during the month in review reached £6,09 million, with an average of £276,65 thousand per trading session. The Financials sector contributed 56,35% to the total value traded, which was the highest, whereas the Technology sector had the lowest contribution with 1,37%. Investors primarily focused their interest on the shares of “Bank Of Cyprus Public Company Ltd” and “Cyprus Popular Bank Ltd” with 22,67% and 10,84% respectively.

Members and Listed Companies news

On the 1st of September the CSE Council decided to transfer the company "Transoccer Holdings Ltd" to the "Special Trading Category" since it had not submitted its financial results for the six months ended 30/6/2004, pursuant to Paragraph 23(1) Part IV Appendix F (Regulation 81(1) of the CSE Regulations). Trading in the above category started on the 2nd of September 2004.

On the 1st of September 2,200,000 ordinary shares of "Marketrends Financial Services Ltd", resulting from a share bonus to the Company's associates, started trading.

On the 1st of September 7,378,528 ordinary shares of nominal value £0.10 each of the company “CPI Enterprise Development Ltd”, which were issued and allocated as an exchange for the acquisition of 97.64% of the share capital of A.L Pro Choice Ventures Ltd, started trading.

On the 1st of September the CSE announced that the company “Charilaos Apostolides Ltd” was renamed to “Charilaos Apostolides Public Ltd ”.

On 2nd of August 15.765.049 Warrants of company "Interfund Investments Ltd", which were distributed with a proportion of 1 warrant for every 10 shares held on 26 July 2004, started trading. The exercise periods of warrants will be the 1st until 31st October 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The exercise price is variable so that for each period the highest of the average trading price during the 15 days that precede 31 days before the beginning of exercise period, minus 40% of the average price, or of the nominal value of the share.

On the 3rd of September, 52-week Treasury Bills (25/8/2004-24/8/2005) equalling £20.000.000, derived from an auction held on August 25th, started trading.

On the 3rd of September 5.75% Government Development Bonds, 1st Series 2004 - Expiry 2009 with a date of issue 24/6/2004 (4th Issue date 26/8/2004) of total value £21,258,000, which resulted from an auction held on August 25th, started trading.

On the 3rd of September 5.% Government Development Bonds, 4th Series 2004 - Expiry 2006 of total value £30,000,000, which have resulted from an auction held on August 25th, started trading.

On the 8th of September the CSE announced that the company “Isxis Investment Ltd” was renamed to “Isxis Investment Public Ltd ”.

On the 8th of September the CSE announced that the company “Aiantas Investment Ltd” was renamed to “Aiantas Ivestment Public Ltd”.

On the 10th of September the CSE announced that the company “Karyes Ivestment Ltd” was renamed to “Karyes Investment Public Ltd ”.

On the 20th of September the CSE council announced that the company “Unigrowth Investments Ltd” was renamed to “Unigrowth Investments Public Ltd”.

On the 21st of September the CSE announced that the company “A. Tsokkos Hotels Ltd” was renamed to “A. Tsokkos Hotels Public Ltd”.

On the 21st of September the CSE announced that the company “Options Cassoulides Ltd” was renamed to “Options Cassoulides Public Company Ltd”.

On the 24th of September the CSE announced that the company “PHC Franchised Restaurants Public Ltd” was renamed to “PHC Franchised Restaurants Public Ltd”.

On the 24th of September the CSE announced that the company “Cyprint Ltd” was renamed to “Cyprint Public Ltd”.

On the 24th of September 1,771,866 ordinary shares of nominal value £0.20 each of the company "A.L. Prochoice Financial Services Ltd", which have been issued and allocated to the bond holders who have accepted its offer for the acquisition of bonds they possessed, started trading.

On the 24th of September the CSE Council, in agreement with the SEC, decided to continue the suspension of trading of the titles of Golden Sun Leisure (Cy) Ltd until the investing public is fully informed on about the suspension of operations of the subsidiaries Golden Sun Holidays Ltd and Airglobe Holidays Ltd by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the repercussions on the listed company Golden Sun Leisure (Cy) Ltd.

On the 30th of September the CSE announced that the company “Interfund Investments Ltd” was renamed to “Interfund Investments Public Company Ltd”.

Members News

On the 1st of September 2004, following the deregistration of "Marfin Securities (Cyprus) Ltd" on July 21, 2004, the CSE informed the investing public that the trading accounts with the above Member were no longer active. The securities are no longer under the control of "Marfin Securities (Cyprus) Ltd" but have been transferred under the control of the CSE (Global). Investors who wish to trade the securities that are listed in the Central Registry/Depository must open new trading accounts and determine a Member which will have the power to execute transactions.
