During June there was a slight decrease in the General Price Index and a particular decrease in the value of shares traded compared to May. The various figures and statistics are analysed below.

Prices

The last day of the month General Price Index was 185,71 points. It is worthy to mention, however, that the highest level that the index reached for the month was 197,09 points. On a sectoral level, sub-indices reached the following points: Banking sector 178,44 Approval Investment companies sector 190,96 Insurance companies sector 66,52 Manufacturing sector 66,78. Tourism sector 160,52 Trading sector 47,74 Building Materials and Construction sector 66,39, Information Technology 38,27, Financial Services 38,44, Fish Culture 56,01, Hotels with 117,70, and finally the Other Companies sector with 233,15 points.

Transactions

The total value of transactions during the month in review reached £280 million with an average of £14,3 million per trading session. The Other Companies Sector contributed 23,03% of the total value traded, which was the highest, whereas the Corporate Bonds had the lowest contribution with 0.01%.

Investors primarily focused their interest on the shares of "L.K.Globalsoft.Com Ltd" and "Renos Hatzioannou Farm Ltd" with 8,28% and 7,87% respectively.

Market Capitalization

The total market capitalisation (shares) reached £5.960 billion from £6.089 billion the previous month registering a decrease of 2,1%. According to this month results the Banking sector accounted for 31,44% of the total market capitalisation, the Other Companies sector 14,12%, and the Tourism sector 4,72%. The Trading sector 4,28%, the Manufacturing sector 6,44%, the Approved Investment Companies sector 6,59%, the Insurance sector 0,95%, the Building and Materials and Construction sector 3,44%, the Information Technology sector 6,37%, the Financial Services sector 10,87%, the Fish Culture sector 0,62%, and finally Hotels sector with 10,16% respectively, of the total market capitalisation. Moreover the total market capitalisation including the Corporate and Government bonds decrease to £7.424 billion compared to £7.476 billion at the previous month registering a decrease of 0,69%.
