Cotton Contract Breaks More Records At NYBOT

Cotton futures and options trading at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), the world's leading "soft" commodities exchange, continued a record-setting pace with two new milestones on October 22, 2003.

The all-time volume record for cotton options was broken on October 22, 2003, with 59,076 contracts traded, smashing the previous record of 40,292 contracts, set on October 15, 2003.

Combined futures and options also broke a volume record, with 83,795 contracts traded on October 22, 2003. The previous record was 61,531 contracts, established on September 11, 2003.

The Cotton No. 2 futures contract at NYBOT is 50,000 pounds net weight of cotton and trades from 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (NY Time).
