In a blog post Genscape shared on April 9, 2015, a potential drop in the Doel Nuclear Unit in Belgium was identified. Genscape monitors transmission lines surrounding a power plant in order to understand the generation output of the plant and a large drop in flow on one of the lines was the source of this conclusion.
However, the owner of the Doel Nuclear Unit confirmed that this unit was running during this time. Upon a deeper study of the raw monitor data, a rebalancing of power flow between the lines may have accounted for the large drop in flow on one line that Genscape originally interpreted as a drop in overall power plant output.
