Copenhagen Stock Exchange: November Saw The Highest Turnover In Five Months On The Equity Market And The Highest Turnover On The Bond Market In More Than Two Years

Equity trading in November was the highest since the Exchange implemented the new reporting rules in July 2001. The average daily trading in November was DKK 1.8 billion, which was 20 per cent higher than in October. The total trading in shares in November reached DKK 39.4 billion in market value.



The KFX shares were traded to an amount of DKK 33.2 billion corresponding to 84 per cent of the total turnover.

Novo Nordisk was the most actively traded share in November at DKK 7.0 billion. Second was TDC with DKK 5.7 billion followed by Danske Bank with a turnover of DKK 4.3 billion.

On 3 December the new KFX portfolio was selected. In the portfolio Københavns Lufthavne is replaced by Sophus Berendsen B. The change will take effect from 27 December.

The KFX Index has been vaguely increasing since 11 September, and at the end of the month it closed at 270.72, corresponding to an increase over the month of 3 per cent and to a decline of 14 per cent in relation to November 2000.

The KVX Index did not perform quite as well and dropped by 7 per cent to 332.09. Compared with end-November 2000 this is a 54 per cent drop.

Bond trading in November was the highest since August 1999.

Bonds were traded to an amount of DKK 680.2 billion in market value corresponding to an average daily trading volume of DKK 30.9 billion or 15 per cent more than in October. In comparison with November 2000 this is an increase of 58 per cent.

The trading in government bonds progressed by 31 per cent to DKK 262 billion in market value compared with the month of October and 16 per cent compared with November the year before. The trading in standard mortgage credit rose to DKK 358 billion up 1 per cent on October and reached more than double the amount compared with the same month the year before.

The most frequently traded bond was the government 6% 2011 with DKK 60.4 billion. The most active mortgage credit bond was Realkredit Danmark 6% 2029 with a turnover of DKK 21.1 billion.
