The 20 KFX shares reached a total turnover of DKK 49.9 billion and they accounted for 71 per cent of the total turnover. Novo Nordisk B was the most actively traded share with a turnover of DKK 10.2 billion. Then followed Tele Danmark with DKK 8.1 billion. Ejendomsselskabet Norden was the third most-active share of the month with a turnover of DKK 6.7 billion, which resulted from Norden Invest af December 2000's acquisition of the majority of shares. Then followed GN Great Nordic and Vestas Wind Systems with turnovers of DKK 5.8 billion and DKK 5.3 billion.
Two KFX shares ranked among the 25 star performers. The price of H. Lundbeck shares rose by 14 per cent and the Coloplast shares advanced 10 per cent.
The KFX Index fell by 8.9 per cent over the month and closed February at 316.80. However, compared with the corresponding month last year the index has gained more than 18 per cent. The KVX Index fell by 14 per cent compared with end-January 2001 and it was still influenced by the negative trend on the major international growth exchanges such as Nasdaq.
In February, bond trading amounted to DKK 411 billion in market value, corresponding to an average daily value of trading of DKK 20.6 billion, a 21 per cent fall on January 2001 and a fall of 20 per cent as against February 2000.
The average true yield fell by 7 basis points over the month to 5.88 per cent at the end of February.
