Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Activity In The Fist Half Of 2001 Generally Unchanged In Comparison With The Same Period The Previous Year

The equity trading volume in the first six months of the year amounted to a market value of DKK 390 billion corresponding to an increase of 3% in comparison with the same period the previous year. The daily average trading amounted to DKK 3.2 billion per trading day against DKK 3.1 billion.

The special indices mainly unchanged but huge differences in the nine sector indices. ,p> Level of issues in the first half of 2001. The listed companies raised DKK 4.1 billion through issues against DKK 12.7 in the first half of 2000. Three companies went public and raised a total amount of DKK 1.1 billion through new issues and sale. During the same period the year before, four companies went public (plus Nordic Baltic Holding - now Nordea), and they raised a total amount of DKK 2.1 billion through new issues and sale.

The bond trading volume in the first six months of 2001 amounted to DKK 2,503 billion in terms of market value which is an increase of just under 12%. The bond trading volume per trading day on average amounted to just under DKK 21 billion against DKK 23 billion.
