On May 31, 2023, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the University of Tokyo entered into a basic agreement on cooperation and collaboration for the purpose of accumulating academic and practical cutting-edge knowledge related to financial markets and financial administration.
The items of cooperation and collaboration under the Agreement are as follows:
(1) Research on financial markets and financial administration using data-driven techniques;
(2) Education on data analysis methods and financial literacy education;
(3) Development of new financing methods for research, education, and public relations through collaboration between industry, government, and academia; and
(4) any other matters necessary to achieve the purposes of this Agreement.
This is the first time for the FSA to conclude a partnership agreement with a university or other academic institution in research field. Through building such partnerships, we aim to launch high-quality research projects with leading researchers, expand our academic network, and improve the analytical capabilities of FSA staff.
