Aliant Inc. (Toronto: AIT) will be deleted from the Dow Jones Canada Select Dividend Index and replaced by Power Corporation of Canada (Toronto: POW). Aliant Inc. is being removed due to its conversion to an income trust.
The changes in the Dow Jones Canada Select Dividend Index will be effective as of the open of trade on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.
The Dow Jones Canada Select Dividend Index tracks the top 30 yielding stocks derived from the Dow Jones Canada Total Market Index, a broad-market benchmark index that represents approximately 95% of Canada’s float-adjusted market capitalization. The index is calculated in both Canadian and U.S. dollars.
