The CFTC is establishing this new enforcement presence because increased agency resources are being devoted to investigating and prosecuting commodity wrongdoing in the central and southern regions of the United States. Kansas City's location enhances the CFTC's ability to handle such matters swiftly and effectively.
To date, the CFTC's Kansas City office has been staffed primarily by personnel from the agency's Divisions of Clearing and Intermediary Oversight and Market Oversight. The addition of enforcement attorneys to this office will complement the existing workforce and give the CFTC an enforcement presence in almost every city where a commodity exchange is located.
The CFTC's office is located at 4900 Main Street, Suite 721, Kansas City, Missouri
