Led by Richard Savage, the London-based group produces analysis and commentary on the outlook for the global energy markets. The research looks at the factors affecting the broad supply-demand balance as well as the outlook for prices in the crude oil, natural gas and petroleum product markets.
Prior to joining the Commodities group in December 2003 as Global Head of Commodities Research & Strategy, Richard worked for Banc of America Securities in Equity Research, heading the European Energy team. He first joined the bank in June 2001, after a total of six years covering the oil and gas sector, initially at Kleinwort Benson and then at SG Securities, where he was rated number one by Reuters in small cap oils sector coverage. Richard previously spent nine years as a geologist in the oil industry.
