Lord Hill, the former EU financial services commissioner, has published his recommendations from the UK Listings Review, which was launched by HM Treasury in November last year.
Regarding statements made in the review regarding increasing retail investor participation in IPOs through Prospectus reform, Alasdair Haynes, CEO of Aquis Exchange PLC and Aquis Stock Exchange, said:
“It is excellent to see recognition of the importance of retail participation in IPOs in today’s review, and the understanding that much of what restricts this today is down to unwieldy Prospectus requirements. We are therefore keen to see the proposals for prospectus reform implemented with as much urgency as possible to benefit the end investor.
Aquis Stock Exchange mandated the need to include retail investors in all new IPOs on our Apex segment earlier this year, having updated our Prospectus requirements over a few short months, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
