CSE Investor Day
In order to encourage investors to understand the fundamentals of investing, the CSE has organized an Investor Day to be held at the Negombo Town Hall on Thursday, 08th February 2007 from 9.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m.
This event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to meet stock brokers and officials of the CSE and SEC, open CDS accounts and purchase CSE publications and obtain information.
The event will also provide a platform for the general public to gather knowledge in investing in the stock market through a line up of informative events. The Investor Day will include information desks operated by representatives of Member firms, seminars on investing and special programmes for students.
Investor Education Series
A seminar on “Colombo Stock Exchange: The Past, Present and Future ” was conducted by Mr.Danushka Samarasinghe, Manager Research, Asia Securities Ltd on Wednesday, 31st January 2007 at 5.45 p.m. at the CSE Auditorium.
The seminar presented an overview of the performance of the Sri-Lankan economy and the Stock Market during the past year and present trends in investing. It also provided an insight into the future prospects of the market. A large number of investors and professionals attended this seminar which was the first seminar in the Investor Education Series for the year 2007.
