Coffee C Futures Reach New Record At NYBOT

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today a new Open Interest record for its Coffee "C" futures contract of 75,800 contracts set on Thursday, October 17, 2002. The old "C" record was 74,689 contracts established on September 18, 2002.

NYBOT's coffee contract calls for delivery of washed arabica coffee produced in several Central and South American, Asian and African countries. Each contract is for roughly 250 bags of coffee (or 37,500 pounds).
