CME Sets New Record In E-MINI S&P 500 Futures

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) set a new trading volume record in its E-mini S&P 500 Index contract on Thursday.
The E-mini S&P 500 traded a total of 75,797 contracts - surpassing the prior record set September 28 of 75,270. Open interest in the contract stood at 21,465 at the end of Thursday's session.
The CME's S&P 500 Index futures contract also posted strong volume Thursday with 129,559 contracts changing hands, nearly 20 percent higher than the year-to-date average daily volume.
