CME Not Ruling Out Acquiring Cash Equities Exchange

Craig Donohue, Chief Executive Oficer of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, gave a keynote speech today at FESE’s tenth European Financial Markets Convention.

Speaking to journalists after his address, Mr. Donohue said that the CME "is not ruling out" the acquisition of a cash equities exchange, adding that the U.S. regulatory structures do not represent a barrier to such a move, and that such a move would have to make financial sense for the CME.
