CME Group's Duffy To Appear Before U.S. Senate Committee On Agriculture

CME Group Executive Chairman and President Terry Duffy will appear before the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry, Wednesday, July 17, regarding CFTC reauthorization.

"This hearing comes at a critical time, as the CFTC grapples with the remaining challenges in implementing the Dodd-Frank Act, including international harmonization of swaps rules," said Duffy.  "We welcome the Senate Agriculture Committee's oversight as they consider reauthorization of the agency to ensure the markets are governed by thoughtful regulation that preserves the ability of farmers, ranchers, and businesses around the world to effectively manage their risk through deep, liquid and resilient derivatives markets in the U.S. and abroad."

The hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Eastern time in the Senate Hart Office Building.  Duffy's written testimony will also be available on www.cmegroup.com at that time.
