Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado will join CME Group's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy in honoring 25 high-achieving Chicago Star Scholar graduates with $5,000 scholarships. Each student has received an associate's degree through the Mayor's Star Scholar program and has been selected for this scholarship to continue studies at a Chicago Star Partnership college or university to earn a four-year degree in math, computer science, finance or economics. Four scholarship recipients will also be selected to participate in a summer internship at CME Group or a CME Group clearing firm. Their internship assignments will be revealed at the luncheon.
This scholarship program is designed to invest in Chicago students and strengthen the vitality of Chicago's future business community. CME Group has been partnering with the mayor's office and providing high-achieving Chicago Public School students with scholarship awards since 1986, awarding more than $2 million to nearly 2,000 students.
