CME, CBOT, CBOE, CHX Announce Coordinated Close Of Chicago Financial Markets Sep. 12

Chicago's four financial exchanges jointly announced that their markets will be closed Wed., Sep. 12, in recognition of the tragic events that took place in the United States today. Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) will close their open outcry and electronic trading markets tomorrow, following curtailed trading activity today. The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) and Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) will also close their markets.

Officials of the exchanges said they have been in close contact with each other and other financial markets, in addition to U.S. regulatory authorities, and expect to coordinate the resumption of trading activity in various markets.
