Clearstream’s September 2011 figures

In September 2011, the value of assets under custody held on behalf of customers registered a minor decrease to € 10.81 trillion (compared to € 10.86 trillion in September 2010). Securities held under custody in Clearstream’s international business experienced a rise of 2 percent from € 5.8 trillion in September 2010 to € 5.9 trillion in September 2011 while domestic German securities held under custody decreased by 3 percent from € 5.0 trillion in September 2010 to € 4.9 trillion in September 2011.

In September 2011, 3.0 million international settlement transactions were processed, a 6 percent increase over September 2010 (2.8 million). Of all international transactions, 80 percent were OTC transactions and 20 percent were registered as stock exchange transactions.
 
On the German domestic market, settlement transactions reached 7.7 million, 23 percent more than in September 2010 (6.2 million). Of these transactions, 69 percent were stock exchange transactions and 31 percent OTC transactions.

For Global Securities Financing (GSF) services, the monthly average outstanding reached € 653.6 billion. The combined services, which include triparty repo, securities lending and collateral management, collectively experienced a rise of 19 percent over September 2010 (€ 547.5 billion).

In the Investment Funds services, 0.39 million transactions were processed, a 5 percent decrease over September 2010 (0.41 million). Year-to-date September 2011 is with 4.04 million transactions 9 percent higher than the same period last year (year-to-date September 2010: 3.71 million).
