Clearstream And 360T Join Forces With International Offshore Sailing Team Malizia

Date 21/07/2026

Clearstream, Deutsche Börse Group’s post-trade business, and 360T, its FX trading platform, have launched a joint three-year partnership with Team Malizia, the world-class offshore sailing team led by skipper Boris Herrmann.

Clearstream and 360T will support Team Malizia’s ambitions across some of the world’s most prestigious offshore sailing events, including The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026, The Ocean Race 2027, and ultimately the Vendée Globe 2028/2029. In parallel, the partners will work together to advance the team’s education and research initiatives.

The partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to innovation and collaboration on a global stage. Building on the successful collaboration between 360T and Team Malizia that began in November 2024, the partnership underscores the importance of advanced technology and data-driven insights in enabling high performance, both across the world’s oceans and within global financial markets.

Boris Herrmann made history as the first German to compete in the Vendée Globe in 2020–21, finishing an impressive fifth, and has since established himself as one of the sport’s most recognizable skippers. Together with his Team Malizia, he has consistently competed at the front of the IMOCA fleet, including a third-place overall finish in The Ocean Race 2022–23. The team combines elite sailing with science, education and partnerships, collecting valuable ocean data during races and engaging with children around the world.

Team Malizia has entered a new chapter with Malizia 4, its latest IMOCA race yacht. Designed for the next generation of offshore competition, the new boat will form the centerpiece of the team’s upcoming campaign, including major races such as The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026, The Ocean Race 2027, and ultimately Boris Herrmann’s third Vendée Globe participation in 2028–29. With Malizia 4, Team Malizia continues to push the boundaries of performance, innovation and impact, both on and off the water.

Florian Pfleiderer, Head of Strategy and Transformation at Clearstream, said: “Operating critical financial market infrastructure and racing solo around the world share the same fundamental elements: resilient systems, real-time data, and decisive action in fast-changing environments. We were drawn to Team Malizia and Boris because they don’t just race, they use technology to generate insights that serve a larger purpose. This mirrors our vision for Clearstream’s evolution into a fully digital securities infrastructure that not only combines innovation and trust at its core, but creates lasting value for our clients and markets.”

Carlo Kölzer, Group CEO of 360T, added: “Our shared commitment to leveraging pioneering technology, achieving the highest levels of performance, and pushing boundaries responsibly is what brought 360T and Team Malizia together. In both FX trading and ocean racing, success is built on cutting-edge technology, a strong team, precision and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment. We are proud to continue supporting Boris Herrmann’s racing endeavors as he sets new benchmarks in sailing innovation and contributes valuable scientific data from oceans around the globe.”

Boris Herrmann, Skipper of Team Malizia, said: “We are excited to join forces with Clearstream and 360T, who share our commitment to innovation, performance, and our ‘A Race We Must Win – Climate Action Now!’ mission. Following more than a year and a half of successful collaboration with 360T, we are delighted to welcome Clearstream onboard as we embark on this new three-year partnership, which will support us throughout our ambitious campaign competing onboard Malizia 4. Together, we aim to drive awareness for climate action while pushing the limits of what is possible in offshore racing.”
