CISI: 5,200 CaixaBank Spain Employees Achieve Outstanding Financial Advice Exam Results

Date 17/12/2014

90% of more than 5,200 CaixaBank employees who were examined for the Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Advice awarded by the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the International Certificate in Wealth Management, awarded by the CISI, have obtained both titles. It is an excellent result that reinforces Caixabank’s reputation as an organisation and increases the confidence of their customers.

This achievement has been further enhanced  as the vast majority of CaixaBank colleagues have not only passed but have done so with an outstanding average score of 85%. "This excellent result is a clear demonstration of the commitment of our employees, who have shown tremendous amount of effort and knowledge in an exam that was not easy, and includes a large volume of materials that they have studied for nearly two years” - explains Xavier Coll, Deputy Director General and Director of Human Resources, CaixaBank

Juan Antonio Alcaraz, Director General for the Business, also adds his congratulations, and considers "that this outcome represents a great success for the prestige of CaixaBank, and a great argument to verify the quality and professionalism of the advice we offer on a daily basis to our customers ".

The spectacular results have impressed the heads of educational institutions, the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). "We are talking about a very demanding course of studies that have all the academic rigor of our university and have passed a stress test that confirms that the exam meets all of our reliability and validity criteria" explains Xavier Puig, Program Director at University Pompeu Fabra.

"The average score of the CaixaBank employees far exceeds that of other students who have sat a similar exam” - added Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI and CISI CEO - “we are really impressed."

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is  an organisation which is accredited by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), a regulatory body in Europe and one of the regulators of reference in the global financial services sector. With the Diploma in Financial Advice from UPF and Certificate in Wealth Management from the CISI, CaixaBank becomes the first Spanish organisation to officially certify their advisors to this level and allows it to anticipate the European regulatory requirements that will come into force as a result of the Banking Union.
