The Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) announced today that on Monday May 7, it traded approximately 47 million shares of NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX securities. This is the most active trading day in terms of total shares traded on the CHX since the implementation of the SEC's Regulation NMS (Reg NMS) earlier this year.
Dave Herron, CEO of the CHX said, "Our team has done a great job in rolling out a fast, flexible and stable platform that is ideal for the Reg NMS environment. Feedback has been positive, as both new and existing participants have been very pleased with the trading functionality and depth of book on our market. As liquidity begets liquidity, we anticipate further growth across the board in this new and level national market structure."
