The international industry service, Inside Market Data, has distinguished Christoph Lammersdorf, CEO of Boerse Stuttgart Holding GmbH, for his contributions to the international industry for financial market data and included him in its new Hall of Fame of the 25 leading figures whose innovative ideas have shaped the market for financial market data. The selection committee particularly emphasised that Chrisoph Lammersdorf, during the time that he was responsible for information at Deutsche Börse AG, was the first person to position the stock exchange itself as a direct supplier of information for institutional trading participants and, by introducing a new realtime data feed, to make the stock exchange less dependent on classical data vendors.
For Chrisoph Lammersdorf reliable and transparent information for the financial markets is of paramount importance, also in his present function at Boerse Stuttgart. His guiding principle is: no trading without information. Christoph Lammersdorf had a number of leading positions in the market for financial data, first with Dow Jones and then with Deutsche Börse, before joining Boerse Stuttgart as CEO and Chairperson of the Management Board in 2008. "Stuttgart has achieved its position as the leading stock exchange for private investors partly because of the pioneering role it played in providing this target group with realtime information free of charge. The professional processing of financial market data for all market participants is still fundamental to our business success," says the CEO of Boerse Stuttgart Holding GmbH.
Since 1985 Inside Market Data has been providing the industry for financial market data with information, conferences and expertise made available in journalistic form. To celebrate its 25th anniversary this industry service wished to distinguish a number of figures whose actions, have been instrumental in building up and shaping the market. One of the most prominent personalities in the IMD Hall of Fame is New York's Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, founder and former CEO of Bloomberg LP.
