China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) Regarding Securities and Futures Regulatory Cooperation with Kuwait Stock Exchange Committee (Market Committee) recently in Kuwait City. The MOU was signed in advance by CSRC Chairman Shang Fulin and H.E. Ahmed R. Al Haroun, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry and President of Market Committee. On 5 May, 2010, Mr. Liu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of CSRC and H.E. Rasheed Al-Tabtabaei, Under-Secretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Member of Market Committee held formal talks after a simple ceremony on which they exchanged the MOU documents as witnesses. To date, CSRC has concluded 47 MOUs with securities and futures regulators in 43 jurisdictions around the world.
China and Kuwait have strengthened cooperation in economy, trade and many other fields in recent years. The MOU signed between the two regulators will enhance exchanges of views and cooperation in the field of securities and futures supervision and promote sound development of capital markets in both countries.
Established in October 1992, CSRC has been actively involved in regulatory information
exchange and cross-border enforcement cooperation with its overseas counterparts. So far, CSRC has signed MOUs with securities regulators in Hong Kong S.A.R, the United States, Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Malaysia, Brazil, Ukraine, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Egypt, the Republic of Korea, Romania, South Africa, Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Indonesia, New Zealand, Portugal, Nigeria, Vietnam, India, Argentina, Jordan, Norway, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Liechtenstein, Mongolia, Russia, Dubai, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Chinese Taipei, Malta and Kuwait in chronological order.
