Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. Suspends Trading For The Day

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) announced that it has suspended trading in all of its markets today, in coordination with other U.S. securities and financial exchanges.

Trading in interest rate and foreign exchange markets, which opened at 7:20 a.m. (CST), suspended today at 9:15 a.m. (CST). Open outcry trading in all U.S. equity and agricultural products, which normally begin at 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. respectively, did not take place. Electronic trading on CME's GLOBEX2 system of equity markets was suspended at 8:30 also.

CME is sending home non-essential personnel for the day.

CME officials said there will be a recording with information with respect to after-hours GLOBEX trading today and open outcry and electronic trading for tomorrow through 312/930-2324. The recording will be updated as there are new developments
