Date 17/09/2003

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the largest futures exchange in the United States, and Bloomberg L.P., the global financial news and information company, today announced that they now provide GLOBEX® trading access to Bloomberg subscribers.

Under the agreement, subscribers to the Bloomberg PROFESSIONAL® and Bloomberg TRADEBOOK® services will have direct order-execution connectivity to CME's GLOBEX electronic trading platform for all products traded on GLOBEX. These Bloomberg subscribers also will be able to access real-time and historical CME market data. The first Bloomberg subscribers connected to GLOBEX this past weekend.

"Bloomberg terminals are an integral tool for financial professionals in a wide variety of industries all over the world," said CME Chairman Terry Duffy. "By using their Bloomberg terminals to access news and real-time information across multiple markets, as well as to trade on GLOBEX, these professionals now have the tools to react more quickly to world events and use CME futures and options on futures more efficiently and effectively."

"We are delighted to team up with Bloomberg to further expand the global distribution of CME's electronically traded contracts," said Arman Falsafi, Managing Director, Global Electronic Trading and Data. "We expect our agreement with Bloomberg to bring our products to the attention of potential new customers worldwide."

"Connecting to CME is a natural fit for Bloomberg's overall strategy of allowing our customers to trade on multiple exchanges 24 hours a day," said Andrew Hausman, global manager of electronic futures trading. "Giving our clients access to the most comprehensive suite of news, data and analytics, co-mingled with advanced trading tools, is a necessity for traders dealing in the futures market."
