“Cheryl will be a valuable addition to our already strong management team,” said Tim Ryan, president and CEO of SIFMA. “With her depth and breadth of experience she will be heavily relied upon to effectively communicate to the public and other stakeholders as we begin to operate under a new regulatory environment while continuing to serve our clients—American businesses and families.”

“I’m excited to be joining SIFMA as this critical time for the financial services industry and America’s economy,” said Crispen. “I look forward to working closely with the talented staff at SIFMA and representing its members as we begin to bring greater certainty to financial markets under a new regulatory environment.”

In her most recent position at MBA, Ms. Crispen was responsible for MBA’s external and internal communications programs, including directing relations with the national media; developing speeches and presentations for MBA’s leadership; marketing the association’s products, services and membership; and overseeing all aspects of publishing the association’s monthly magazine and online newsletters.

Prior to joining MBA, Ms. Crispen was Vice President of Public Affairs for The Export-Import Bank of the United States, where she developed and implemented strategic communications and public outreach programs, managed the bank’s external and internal communications and developed overall bank positioning.

Previously, she was Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at JPMorgan Chase, where she developed brand positioning and direct marketing programs as well as managed global advertizing, media outreach, investor relations and internal communications, among other responsibilities. Prior to JPMorgan Chase, she was Vice President of Global Communications for The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc.

Ms. Crispen also has extensive government experience having served as Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce as well as chief spokesman for domestic finance for the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Ms. Crispen has a B.A. in international economic affairs and political science from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
