Following the retirement of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange Founding Director Advocate Peter Harwood, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of David Carse as Director.
Jonathan Hooley, Chairman of the CISX, thanked Peter on behalf of the Board, management and staff at the Exchange for his sterling efforts in promoting and developing the CISX into the successful operation it has become. He commented:
“Peter’s unstinting service, perceptive advice and wise counsel along with his depth of regulatory knowledge made him a highly valued member of the Board. He gave freely of his time and energy from the early days of the Working Group and throughout the Exchange’s formative years of development. We wish Peter a long, happy and healthy retirement.”
Mr Hooley also welcomed Advocate Harwood’s successor, David Carse, to the CISX, adding:
“David Carse is a very capable, professional man with extensive regulatory and finance industry experience and we are delighted that he is joining the Board. David is well known within the Channel Islands through his role as Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission from 2003-2006. He is also a well regarded international figure through his previous position as Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and his role at the Bank of England spanning over twenty-two years as well as the consultancy and non-Executive Directorship work he has undertaken”.
Mr Carse’s appointment takes effect from 22 March 2010.
