Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, pending federal court approval of the scheme of arrangement to effect the merger of Promina Group Ltd. (Australia, SEDOL 6608516, GICS 40301040) and Suncorp-Metway Ltd. (Australia, SEDOL 6585084, GICS 40201020):
Promina Group Limited will be removed from the S&P/ASX 50, and Suncorp-Metway Limited’s weight will be adjusted with the addition of 272,957,916 shares. (Note that the number of shares may change subject to an entitlement offer by Suncorp-Metway Limited. Should this occur, a separate announcement will be made.)
Promina Group Ltd. will be replaced in the S&P/ASX 50 by ASX Ltd. (Australia, SEDOL 6129222, GICS 40201040), which has total shares of 170,780,000 and an IWF of 1.00.
