Ittai Ben Zeev, CEO of TASE:

“The Israeli public often turns to overseas investment for returns, while the Israeli indices have been consistently performing strongly over the years. We invite the public to learn more and make educated investment decisions that consider the investor's specific circumstances, with a long-term perspective.
The Israeli public lags behind in investments on the local capital market. The public's participation in the success of the Israeli companies not only contributes to all of our pensions and to the Israeli economy and growth, but is also an attractive channel of long-term investment, which the public should become better acquainted with for more educated decision on investments."

Tel Aviv, January 31, 2022 - The Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE: TASE) airs today a new educational campaign that invites the public to learn more about the TASE indices and investments in products that track the TASE indices on Israeli securities - ETFs and tracking funds. This initiative is part of TASE's ongoing strategy of removing trading barriers and expanding the public's familiarity with and involvement in the Israeli capital market.

In 2021, TASE's flagship indices outperformed leading global indices, in NIS terms. For example, the TA-35 Index rose by 32% and the TA-90 Index recorded a 33% increase. TASE's sectorial indices also followed this upward trend, achieving record highs.

A multiannual analysis also shows a strong performance by the local indices - the TA-90 Index increased by 159% over the past five years, outperforming all leading global equity indices, other than NASDAQ-100, which represents technology companies, while the TA-

Technology Index increased by 177% over the past five years, overtaking NASDAQ-100's 171% rise, in NIS terms.

As part of this move and in order to improve the public's awareness to the possibilities of investment in the TASE indices, TASE will be launching a dedicated website that offers, among others, an index calculator for an easy comparison of the yields of principal indices over different timeframes, information on the principal indices and the products tracking those indices, as well as a list of the managers of ETFs and tracking funds that have investment products tracking the TASE indices on Israeli securities that are traded on TASE.

TASE believes that this important and far-reaching move will affect the public's perception of TASE and its products and indices, allowing it to wisely exercise long-term finance management.

Close to 25 Billion Shekels in Index-Tracking Products Over Three Years

According to data published by TASE, in the past three years the public has purchased ETFs and tracking funds on TASE's equity indices in an amount of NIS 8 billion. There are currently 75 ETFs on the local equity indices traded on TASE and 74 tracking funds thereon, with a total market cap of NIS 45 billion. The ETFs are mutual funds listed on TASE, which enables the investors to immediately react to events on the capital market and to buy and sell them at any time as part of the trading on TASE, similarly to all traded securities. The tracking funds are mutual funds that are not listed on TASE and can only be bought and sold at end-of-day prices of the securities that comprise them.

Over the same period, the public has purchased ETFs and tracking funds on TASE's bond indices in an amount of NIS 16.5 billion. The Tel-Bond indices, which include the major CPI-linked bonds, increased by 23% over the past five years. There are currently 141 ETFs on the local bond indices traded on TASE and 237 tracking funds thereon, with a total market cap of NIS 63 billion. As part of its strategy and as a key function in the Israeli economy, TASE believes that it is essential to increase the public's awareness to investment on the capital market through the TASE indices, thereby also expanding the public's portfolio of assets.

In this campaign, the famous comedian in Israel, Adi Ashkenazi, who has successfully led several educational moves by TASE in recent years jumps on stage in the middle of a concert, excitedly announcing TASE as the “2021 yields world champion" and grabs the baton to conduct the orchestra's rendition of... The Premier League's anthem.

The campaign airs today (January 31, 2022) on TV, digital networks and billboards.

The move will be carried out through the advertising agency, Citymedia.
