Chairman Of The U.S. Senate Committee On Banking visits BM&FBOVESPA

The chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Human Affairs, Senator Christopher Dodd, together with the U.S. consulate general in São Paulo, Thomas White, and entourage visited BM&FBOVESPA on Tuesday, April 6th. They were received by the Exchange’s CEO, Edemir Pinto, and its officers.

During the visit, Senator Dodd watched a presentation about BM&FBOVESPA, its vertically integrated business model, guarantee and risk management mechanisms. The Americans were particularly interested in the regulation mechanisms of the Brazilian markets. In the upcoming months, Senator Dodd will present a proposal in the U.S. Congress to reform the American financial system.
