Elected Chairman in July 2000, at the request of the board, Mr Kitching's period of office will now extend to July 2003 rather than July next year. Mr Kitching will be retiring at the end of next month as Chairman of Simpson, Spence & Young Ltd in London and as the senior partner of Simpson, Spence & Young International Partnerships in New York, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. He will however continue to work with SSY in a consultancy capacity.
The Exchange's Vice-Chairman, Mr David McNally, earlier informed the board that he intends to retire from the post when his term of office is completed in July next year. His successor as Vice-Chairman will be chosen by the directors in due course
