The Committee is chaired by CFTC Commissioner Thomas J. Erickson and was created by the Commission for the purpose of identifying and analyzing the applications of new technologies in financial and commodity markets and examining ways the Commission may respond to the use of these technologies through appropriate legislative proposals and/or regulatory reform. Its members represent electronic markets, electronic communication systems, U.S. futures exchanges, a self-regulatory organization, financial intermediaries, market users, and traders.

- Developments in clearing; and
- Final subcommittee reports on standardization and market access.
