CFTC To Hold Open Meeting To Discuss Issues Related To Security Futures Products Including Customer Margin Rules

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold an open meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, to discuss matters related to security futures products. The meeting will take place at the Commission's Washington, D.C. headquarters, Three Lafayette Centre, 1155 21st Street, N.W., in the first-floor hearing room. The matters to be considered include:

• Customer margin rules;
• The applicability of CFTC and Securities & Exchange Commission customer protection, recordkeeping, reporting, and bankruptcy rules; and
• The applicability of the Securities Investor Protection Act of 1970 to accounts holding security futures products.
