CEO Of UAE Securities And Commodities Authority H.E. Dr. Maryam Al Suwaidi’s Message On Flag Day

Date 03/11/2021

Celebrating Flag Day has a special flavor this year. Fifty years have passed during which this flag had been rising high. The flag, with its four colors, has been a symbol of sovereignty and unity in the past fifty years and will remain so in the years ahead, thus entrenching the values of loyalty, belonging and love for this land’s soil.

This occasion reflects the ambitions of the Emirati people and the bright future ahead of them, especially that celebrating Flag Day coincides this year with the country’s hosting of Expo 2020, an event that brings together people from the world’s six continents to this land of challenges and opportunities.

Flag Day is a dear occasion for every resident and citizen living in this generous land. It comes to entrench the values of patriotism and pride in the country’s track record. The flag in itself is a testimony to the major shifts the country has gone through; it is a symbol of identity that we raise high to narrate a story of accomplishments and success. This is a momentous occasion in which we establish the value of citizenship and instill patriotism in the coming generations.

Celebrating this day coincides with a dear occasion to the hearts of Emirati people, a day of glory in the country’s history, a day that marks the anniversary of the accession of President   His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to power.

Finally, the Flag Day is indeed a valuable national occasion that represents the identity of a country where the noble values of belonging to our dear homeland and loyalty to our wise leadership are embodied. It is a day that establishes a set of values, most notably national unity, union, peace and tolerance. It is an evidence that our “house is united” and that the people of the country stand together with its wise leadership thanks to a prudent policy that follows in the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
