CEO Of Qatar Stock Exchange Participates In WFE Working Committee And Board Meetings In London

Mr. Rashid Bin Ali Al-Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, today participated in the Working Committee and Board meetings of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), taking place in London for 2 days.  Mr. Al-Mansoori participates in these meetings in his capacity as a member of the WFE Working Committee and Board of Directors after he was elected as a Board Member of the WFE to represent Europe-Middle East-Africa region for three-year term.

Mr. Al-Mansoori stated that he is delighted for of the prestigious position reached by the Qatar Stock Exchange at the international level, pointing out that the QSE is aiming to promote its achievements and the attractiveness  of the Qatari economy through international organizations such as the WFE, which is one of the most prominent international organizations in the field of capital markets, and through direct dialogue with chiefs and heads of the world's leading stock markets.

"QSE's participation in international events helps to support Qatar's position as one of the leading regional markets as we take our responsibility to coordinate the efforts of global markets in general and the emerging markets in particular to protect their interests against existing and potential challenges. We have a clear interest in activating the WFE role in terms of promoting the best practices among member exchanges in order to protect financial markets from potential financial crises," Mr. Al-Mansoori stated.

Qatar Stock Exchange will host the 55th General Assembly and Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) during the period from 19th-21st October 2015.  The WFE is also the world's largest gathering of exchanges as it is the trade association of 64 publicly regulated stock, futures and options exchanges from all over the world, in addition to other affiliate and correspondent members.

The WFE is an important reference point for many international investors about the investment atmosphere in the member markets.  The WFE market operators are responsible for operating key components of the financial world. The WFE exchanges are home to more than 45,000 listed companies and the WFE statistics database covers more than 350 indicators and 70 years of data from exchanges worldwide.
