-C-Com Introduces New Trading System in Fall 2007

C-Com will launch a new trading system, ¡ÈAdvanced Itayose¡É in this fall. The program of the system now under development has already been tested several times. The project as a whole has been carried out very much on schedule. The Exchange will start a series of final comprehensive testing of the system in early July in order to activate the new system in fall.
The new system features not only Internet access but ISV connectivity as well, which will provide greater flexibility to our member firms.


-C-Com¡Çs New Headquarters Building to be completed in Spring 2008

On March 19, C-Com started the construction of the new Exchange headquarters building in downtown Nagoya. The four story-high new building will be completed in spring 2008. This building ensures 150% of the earthquake-resistance strength criteria, which will play an important roll in our disaster prevention program.


-C-Com Made a Debut at TRA Annual Dinner in Bangkok

On May 11th, C-Com joined Thai Rubber Association (TRA) Annual Dinner 2007, held at the Grand Ballroom, Sofitel Central Plaza Hotel in Bangkok. This annually-held, one of the biggest events in the worldwide rubber industry attracts people from around the world every year – rubber traders, manufacturers and other professionals in the industry for networking and information exchange. This year, the number of attendees was about 800, and C-Com received warm welcome by the global rubber industry.


-C-Com Evening Gathering in Bangkok

In the evening before the TRA Annual Dinner, C-Com held the ¡ÈC-Com Evening Gathering in Bangkok¡É at ¡ÈSilk Road¡É in Plaza Athenee Hotel, Bangkok in order to get more acquainted with the Exchange members and friends from the region. The C-Com chairman and CEO, Mr. Kimura welcomed about 20 guests including President of the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand, Secretary General of the Office of the Agricultural Futures Trading Committee, and Chairman of the Thai Rubber Association. C-Com introduced its activities in order to increase awareness in the rubber community in the region.


-C-Com Presented at FIA Boca Raton Conference

The C-Com participated on the ¡ÈInformationXchange¡É panel as one of FIA-Japan members, at the FIA Boca Raton Conference held on March 14th in Florida. The topic for the panel was the introduction of Japanese futures market and the industry¡Çs legal environment. As the fellow panels, Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) and Tokyo Financial Exchange (TFX) joined to promote their markets, too. Also present were the regulators from METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) who answered questions from the audience.
The panel attracted more than 60 people who represented brokerage firms, fund managers, prop firms and system vendors, which reflected a strong interest towards Japanese futures markets.


-TAIFEX Visited C-Com

Mr. Wu, Chairman of the Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) and his delegates visited C-Com¡Çs main offices in Nagoya on May 11th. They paid a courtesy call to Mr. Fujita, President and Mr. Kawai, Executive Managing Director and COO of the Exchange. TAIFEX and C-Com signed MOU in May last year, and the two exchanges have been maintaining good relationship since then.
Mr. Wu also made a request on C-Com¡Çs participation to the next FIA-Asia conference to be held in Taipei hosted by TAIFEX who will celebrate their 10th Anniversary this year.


-SHFE and CISA Visited C-Com for the study of Ferrous Scrap Futures

Ms. Wang, the chairperson of the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) and her delegates visited C-Com on May 18th together with the delegate of China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) led by Mr. Luo, Vice Chairman & Secretary General, for the purpose of studying iron related commodity futures. As SHFE is now applying for permission to list new steel products to its regulator, they were eager to learn from the experiences of C-Com in launching its Ferrous Scrap Futures contract. CISA is interested in the new product SHFE is trying to list. C-Com and the Chinese delegates had an active exchange of opinions on Iron and Steel industry of both countries, the structure of C-Com Ferrous Scrap Futures and expected launch of steel futures market in Shanghai. Two Exchanges are looking forward to further strengthening close relationship for having similar contracts including Rubber, Aluminum, and possibly Iron related futures in the near future.
