The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced the appointment of Martin Reiner as Senior Vice President for the Exchange, overseeing sales, marketing, and product development.

CBOT® President and CEO David J. Vitale said, "One of the Chicago Board of Trade's top priorities is to realign the exchange to become a more product-oriented business, which will lead to more trading volume and increased liquidity. Last year, the CBOT® attained its second highest trading volume ever and launched several new financial and commodity products, with more on the horizon. Marty Reiner's understanding of the underlying financial markets and his exemplary record of customer service and product design will greatly assist our efforts in achieving further product diversification for our customers and members."

In heading the Business and Product Development Department, Reiner, 42, will report to Executive Vice President Bernard Dan. He will focus on business development through research, planning and implementing global marketing, sales, and education programs. He will also be responsible for designing new products to meet the needs of market participants and monitoring existing products for necessary revisions as market demands change. Reiner comes to the exchange with more than 15 years of risk management and sales experience. He began his capital markets' career at O'Connor Partnerships in 1985, later becoming the Global Head of Commodity Derivatives at Swiss Bank Corporation, upon the acquisition of O'Connor by Swiss Bank. He has also held senior management roles as Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales Technology, and as the Co-Head of Global Marketing and Distribution Management at SBC Warburg Dillon Read, the investment banking division of Swiss Bank. Most recently, Reiner worked for Nstein Technologies, Inc., a software company with which he focused on sales and customer relations.
