CBOT®to Delay Trading In Its Agricultural Markets

Date 13/05/2003

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced an abbreviated agricultural trading session today, May 13, with trading beginning at 11:30am (Chicago time) for all its agricultural products. The market will close at its regularly scheduled time of 1:15pm. The only exception will be the CBOT rice contract which will trade according to its normal schedule.

The delay in the CBOT's agricultural floor opening from its normal 9:30am start time is due to technical problems associated with the introduction of a new trade management system by the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation (BOTCC) on Friday, May 9, 2003.

The later opening will allow clearing member firms an opportunity to reconcile any trade management problems resulting from the installation of BOTCC's new software.
