CBOT<SUP><SMALL>®</SUP></SMALL> Mini-Sized Dow<SUP><SMALL>SM</SUP></SMALL> Futures Contract Sets Volume, Open Interest Records; Fed Funds Futures Also Hit Record Levels

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that a new daily volume record was set for mini-sized Dow Jones futures on 57,576 contracts traded June 6, breaking the previous high of 54,639 contracts set May 20, 2003.

Additionally, mini-sized Dow futures posted an open interest record at 42,134, surpassing the previous record of 40,339 contracts outstanding on June 5, 2003.

The CBOT's Fed Funds futures contract reached record volume and open interest as well, with 110,926 contracts traded on June 6, surpassing the previous high of 91,609 contracts traded on May 2, 2003. Open interest in the contract stands at 352,898, topping the previous record of 337,219 contracts on May 30, 2003.
