CBOT®'s Mini-sized Dow<SUP>SM</SUP> Jones Futures Contract Sets Volume Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that a new daily volume record was set for mini-sized Dow Jones futures with 79,479 contracts traded on January 13, 2004, breaking the previous record of 77,159 contracts set on September 30, 2003.

Launched April 5, 2002, the electronically traded mini-sized Dow Jones futures contract traded a record 10,859,690 contracts in 2003, representing a 388.1 percent increase from the previous year. Since January 1, 2004 the mini-sized Dow Jones futures contract volume has reached 513,117.
