CBOT's Electronic Trading Platform Sets New Daily Volume Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that its members set a new daily volume record on the exchange's electronic trading platform with 706,720 contracts traded on May 30, breaking the previous record of 702,133 contracts set on May 23, 2002.

Additionally, records were set in the Ten-Year Treasury note futures contract, trading 347,091 on May 30, breaking the previous record of 335,125 set on May 23, 2002; Five-Year Treasury note futures contract, trading 182,803 on May 30, breaking a record of 165,810 on May 29, 2002; and the Mini ($5) Dow Jones futures contract, trading 8,624 contracts on May 30, breaking the old record of 8,117 set on April 25, 2002. Mini ($5) Dow Jones futures also set an open interest record of 10,195 contracts on May 30, as well, breaking the old record of 9,998 contracts outstanding set on May 29, 2002.
