The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT
®) announced today its members set a new daily volume record on the exchange's electronic trading platform with 899,080 contracts traded on June 26, 2002, breaking the previous record of 706,720 contracts set on May 30, 2002. The CBOT
®traded a total of 2,352,115 contracts yesterday, of which 1,453,035 were traded in the open auction marketplace, representing 62% of the overall volume.
CBOT members also set a new daily record in the Fed Funds Futures contract, trading 83,432 contracts, surpassing the former record of 71,443, set on November 16, 2001.
