CBOT®Fed Funds Futures, Options Contracts Set Volume, Open Interest Records

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced the Fed Funds options set a daily volume record of 50,859 contracts on May 2, surpassing the previous high of 22,385 set April 22, 2003.

Open interest reached 177,176 on May 2, surpassing the previous record of 140,965 contracts outstanding on April 30, 2003. Additionally, the contract on May 2 marked a 45,211-contract increase in open interest from May 1.

The CBOT's Fed Funds futures contract also set a daily open auction volume record of 87,525 contracts traded on May 2, breaking the previous record of 83,826 contracts set March 17, 2003.
