CBOT®10-Year Treasury Note Futures Sets New Open Interest Record Surpassing 821,730 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade's (CBOT) 10-Year Treasury Note futures contract reached a new open interest record level of 821,730 contracts on Friday, May 17, 2002.

The new open interest record exceeds the former level high of 814,665 contracts set on May 16, 2002.

CBOT Chairman Nickolas J. Neubauer said, "The consistency of new open interest records set in the CBOT's 10-Year Treasury Note futures is a clear indication of the contract's excellent liquidity and its continued growing importance as a key interest rate benchmark."
